As with most transplants to Los Angeles, Kurt
was raised in lands elsewhere; specifically, that birthplace and final
resting place of so many dot-com hopes and dreams, Silicon Valley. Spending his
first eighteen years in Cupertino, he has always had three great loves: music,
travel, and computers. Musically, Kurt has been singing with one group or another
(sometimes two or three at once!) since the age of seven. He has been fortunate
enough to have travelled with two separate groups to eastern Europe twice and
South America as well. Instrumentally, he has experimented with piano and clarinet
at times, and has now been fooling around with bass guitar for about five years.
At USC, Kurt began as an architecture major, but those plans crumbled and
he chose to switch to civil engineering, building science. The hybrid program
took a structural skill set and added aesthetic afffectations, so that he now speaks both architect-ease and engineer-speak. He now works for the architecture firm groupK3 in Long Beach, CA.
