ZACH LANEY 6-String Acoustic
& Electric Guitar, Solo Guitar, Vocals Zach Laney spent the first half of his childhood
growing up on the beautiful island of Oahu, Hawaii before moving to Danville, CA, an East Bay
suburb of San Francisco. While in high school, Zach was a permanent fixture in the Monte Vista
High School choir program under the direction of Bruce Koliha. During his junior year, Zach’s
Chamber Choir was ranked #1 in all of California at the 1997 CMEA Golden State Choir Festival.
The following year, his Concert Choir took home second place honors at the same festival.
Having graduated from USC in 2002 with a degree in Marketing, Zach currently works in the On-Air
Promotions Department at the Warner Bros. Television Network (the WB) with future plans of becoming
a “big-time studio executive.” Since returning to Southern California to work for the WB, he can be
found playing once again with the current installment of the 11 o’clock music group at the USC Catholic Center.
Satisfying his need to be by the ocean, Zach now resides in Hermosa Beach and enjoys being part of the
South Bay’s huge USC community. Zach’s musical influences come mainly from classic and modern rock,
including: The Beatles, Boston, U2 (his favorite band), Dave Matthews Band, and Vertical Horizon.
Aside from being an avid sports fan, Zach also enjoys the usual stuff- partying, music, movies, etc.
His words of wisdom: “Don’t sweat the small stuff. Do what you love and love what you do- everything else will fall into place.”
